Founder & CEO
asdf Knowing that girls and mothers throughout the United States and Canada are affected by the very same pressures, Lisa set out to bring more perspective and balance into her daughters' lives, and into the local community. It is empowering and healing to stand together as a community of girls and women, united in the realization that we are all beautiful, just the way we are. asdf Girls Rock! was born when Lisa recruited the family pediatrician, a psychologist, a martial artist, a yoga instructor, a school nurse, a nutritionist, and local teenage girls to help facilitate day-long workshops for girls and their mothers. These generous volunteers became known as the Girls Rock! Team and have inspired moms and daughters since June 2004. asdf Lisa is delighted that her own daughters have become leaders in the cause for healthy body image, self-esteem, and empowerment! |

Lisa
Miller is a full-time mom to two pre-teen daughters. After healing from
decades of struggle with an eating disorder and negative body image, she
was saddened to realize that her own daughters were feeling similarly
pressured. Media messages, peer pressure, and diet industry
advertisements were conveying to her young girls that females in North
America should strive toward one preferred look.
